Leslie Marie Aguilar was born and raised in Abilene, Texas. She received her MFA from Indiana University where she taught Creative Writing and Literary Editing/Publishing. She has served as both the Web Editor and Poetry Editor of Indiana Review and is the recipient of the Louis McNutt Fellowship, the Indiana University Graduate Fellowship, and a National Society of Arts and Letters Chapter Career Award. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Bellingham Review, Callaloo, Ninth Letter, Rattle, Sonora Review, Southern Indiana Review, and Washington Square Review among others. She is the author of Mesquite Manual (New Delta Review, 2015) and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Missouri.
